Russia’s Ambassador to Romania Valeri Kuzmin, was summoned on Friday, June 12, the foreign Ministry in connection with the statement of the official representative of the Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova on the National defense strategy of Romania.
As stated to the Russian diplomat, the Secretary of state Romanian Ministry of foreign Affairs Dan Neculaescu, the reference of the Russian Federation in the National defense strategy of Romania “should not be cause for astonishment”. According to Nicolaescu, it was the result of “destabilizing” behavior of the Russian side in the region in recent years. Speaking about regional stability in the Black sea, he pointed out that “the measure is strictly of a defensive character” was accepted in NATO “due to the aforementioned behavior of the Russian Federation”.
Romanian foreign Minister also said that the new national defense strategy “reflects the status of Romania as a state member of NATO and the EU”, writes TASS.

Thus, according to her, Bucharest “contributes” to the further growth of tension and distrust in the region.
