Russia is the only country in the world that has the historical right to make demands to Ukraine. This was stated by the Senator from Crimea, member of the Federation Council Committee on international Affairs Sergei Tsekov.
on the Eve of the publication Der Spiegel reported, citing a working paper of the Russian delegation at the meeting of advisers of “the Norman four” to resolve the conflict in the Donbas, which Moscow insists on legal definition of status of Donbass. According to the publication, Ukraine has called for July 6 to submit the draft amendments to the Constitution. These amendments should ensure that in the future the special status of Donbass.
Deputy head of the presidential administration Dmitry Kozak confirmed that Moscow expects Kiev the draft amendments to the Constitution, but not by 6 July, according to the German edition, and “soon”. The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky at a briefing during a working trip to Odessa region stated that Ukraine “no one can demand anything in the international arena”.
Senator Tsekov with the Ukrainian President did not agree. Russia, he said, is the only country in the world that has the historical right to demand something from Ukraine, as “Ukraine as a state was held by Russia”. Zelensky, according Tsekova, disingenuous, as unquestioningly fulfills all the requirements of the United States and EU countries.
“It is poorly understood realities. If Ukraine wants to become a democratic and civilized state, it is necessary first of all to listen to Russia,” — said Tsekov RIA Novosti.
If you look at history, at the moment of the unification of Ukraine and Russia in 1654, the Ukrainian lands were treated a small area, like the Senator. Subsequently, it is Russia “protect, develop and expand Ukraine”. In particular, Tsekov stressed, after the reunification with Russia and thanks to him, Ukraine has received the entire South-East and Western parts of its current territory.
