the energy Ministry of Belarus insists the Russian gas price has been revised. The announcement was made after talks with the heads of energy ministries of the two countries, Alexander Novak and Victor Karankevich, as well as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of “Gazprom transgaz Belarus” Alexander Meshkov and the Belarusian Ambassador in Moscow Vladimir Semashko. The talks were held via videoconference, said the RIA Novosti.
Minsk noted the decline in prices of Russian gas supplied to Europe. Because of this, explained in the press service of the Ministry, it is necessary to revise the price of gas for Belarus. Currently, it is $ 127 per thousand cubic meters.
In early April 2020, the Belarusian President Lukashenko said that the price of gas from Russia should reach 40 to $ 45.
Gazprom has offered negotiations on gas deliveries in 2021, after the debt is settled in 165,6 million dollars. However, this proposal was rejected. The Belarusian side noted that between Minsk and Moscow have differences in the cost of gas, “taking into account its calorific value”.
