Shawn Mendes has had to postpone his world tour. In a statement, he explains that he has reached his breaking point.
Shawn Mendes (23) announced in an Instagram post that he had to interrupt his “Wonder: The World Tour” tour. “It breaks my heart to say this, but unfortunately I have to postpone the next three weeks of shows through Uncasville, Connecticut until further notice,” the Canadian singer explained.
The 23-year-old cites the fact that the pressure has caught up with him and that he has reached a breaking point. “I’ve been touring since I was 15 and to be honest it’s always been difficult to be on the road without friends and family,” he says. After a few years without touring, he felt ready “to dive back in, but that decision was premature.”
Shawn Mendes: ‘Need time to heal’
After discussions with his team and health experts, he now has to “take some time to heal and to take care of myself and my mental health first and foremost,” the musician continues. As soon as there are further updates, he will inform his fans.
The Wonder: The World Tour kicked off in Portland last month and is scheduled to run through August 2023. According to the tour plan, there will also be concerts in Germany next year, including in Munich, Berlin and Hamburg.
