Senator Alexei Pushkov commented on the words of former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko about the “unique chance” to return to the Crimea.
According to the former head of Ukraine, Kiev may strengthen the solidarity of the international community and to regain the Crimea, as Russia allegedly is not able to provide funding for the Peninsula.
Pushkov said that no epidemic is coronavirus and the price of oil will affect the Russian government on the Peninsula.
“In 1991, history has given Ukraine a unique chance to keep the Crimea in its composition. She didn’t take it. And in 2014 lost the Crimea. Forever,” — said Pushkov, adding that “Poroshenko can’t even talk about the “unique chance”.
Crimea reunited with Russia in March 2014 after a referendum. Ukraine considers the Crimea illegally occupied territories. Recently the current President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky said that the Peninsula will be back under control of Kiev, and the Russians will be ashamed.
