The Glastonbury Festival has returned, welcoming over 200,000 attendees to Worthy Farm for a weekend filled with music, comedy, poetry, dance, and theatre. This year’s lineup boasts more than 100 stages and over 2,000 acts, showcasing a diverse range of talent.
Among the Northern Irish and Irish artists set to perform at Glastonbury is Annie Mac, a renowned author, broadcaster, and DJ. With a career spanning over two decades, Annie Mac will take the stage on Friday at 11:30 AM. Two Door Cinema Club, a band hailing from Bangor in County Down, will also be performing on Sunday at 7:45 PM.
Ryan McMullan, a singer from Northern Ireland, is scheduled to perform on Saturday at 12:10 PM. Additionally, Belfast band Problem Patterns will be making their Glastonbury debut after winning the Emerging Talent Competition. The band’s modern take on riot grrrl music is set to captivate audiences on Sunday at 11:30 AM.
West Belfast rap trio Kneecap, known for their controversial lyrics and powerful performances, will be taking the Woodsies Stage on Saturday at 11:30 AM. Paul Casey, a singer-songwriter from Derry, will showcase tracks from his latest album on the Acoustic Stage on Saturday at 2:00 PM.
NewDad, an indie rock band from Galway, will perform on Sunday at 2:00 PM, while Fontaines D.C., an Irish band formed in Dublin, will grace The Park Stage on Friday at 11:00 PM. The Mary Wallopers, Lankum, and Dervish, all traditional Irish music groups, are also slated to perform throughout the weekend.
The Burma, an indie band from Cork, will kick off the festival on Friday at 11:30 AM, followed by The Scratch, a Dublin-based four-piece act, on Sunday at 3:25 PM. Kingfishr, an indie folk trio from Limerick, will close out the festival on Sunday at 12:35 PM.
With such a diverse lineup of talented artists from Northern Ireland and Ireland, Glastonbury 2024 promises to be a weekend to remember for music fans from around the world.
