Genius Sonority recently announced during the Nintendo Direct livestream that a new game in The Denpa Men series, titled The New Denpa Men, will be released as a free-to-play game for Nintendo Switch on July 22. The game will be a timed exclusive on the Switch platform.
The Denpa Men series originally started with the release of the first game for Nintendo 3DS in Japan back in February 2012. The game made its way to North America and Europe later that year under the title The Denpa Men: They Came By Wave. The series has since seen three more installments on the Nintendo 3DS, with two of them receiving Western releases. In July 2014, the series introduced its first free-to-play game, The Denpa Men RPG Free!, in Japan. All four installments of the series have been released digitally by Genius Sonority.
The New Denpa Men game also made its debut on smartphones in February 2017. In these games, players are tasked with capturing Denpa Men to form a party and explore dungeons. By using their device’s camera, players can locate and capture Denpa Men in their surroundings.
