The exodus continues: With Elton John, a very prominent musician is leaving the short message service Twitter.
British pop legend Elton John no longer wants to use Twitter after US entrepreneur Elon Musk took over the network. The 75-year-old wrote on Twitter on Friday that he decided to do so after the recent change in the rules made it possible for false information to spread unfiltered there. “All my life I’ve tried to bring people together through music. It saddens me how misinformation is now being used to divide our world.”
After Musk’s takeover, a number of celebrities left the network to protest the entrepreneur’s line. Chancellor Olaf Scholz is also considering withdrawing. Musk defends his deregulation with absolute freedom of expression.
